Break the Bread

As we introduce this blog site, Pass the Bread, we’d like to briefly give you an idea of what to expect as you journey with us. With a title such as ours, one’s first thought might be of different kinds of breads and the sharing of their recipes. Like that “friendship bread” batter someone gave me years ago–it was like having another child to feed and care for. Children to care for was one thing, but batter–well that was quite another matter! There may be recipes from time to time, but this site is about oh so much more.

Bread, as defined in the dictionary is: “food in general, regarded as necessary for sustaining life.”

We will speak of this kind of physical bread, more as it pertains to caring for your family and others around you. However we will also look at another kind of bread, a more important bread–spiritual bread. The Bible makes numerous references to bread. The most significant reference to bread was when Jesus referred to Himself as “the bread of life.” (John 6:35)

Our hope is that you will be encouraged as we share some ways to nourish yourself as a mom with physical and spiritual bread and then how to pass “the bread” to your children. We invite you to journey with us. We promise it will be worth it.

  1. I love the reference to Jesus as the bread of life as it relates to the name of your website. Passing the bread to our families has so many wonderful analogies.

  2. I am looking forward each day to Breaking the Bread to share with others . Thanks for creating this web site. 
